I“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
1 Peter 5:6-10 KJV
As men and women of God, we need to understand and know that it is important and vital that we are watchful of the devil and his afflictions that he brings towards us. We also need to stop fighting our battles on our own. God did not intend for us to do that. The Christian life is a happy, prosperous and joyful life, which is why we have to "cast all of our cares upon him " as the scripture says above. All of our worries , anxieties, pain and sorrow, we need to give that over to God and trust and believe that he will make it better for us. God is the God of all grace and because we may go through pain and suffering, he will make us stronger and more stable Christians. The devil has one job and that job is to destroy us and our lives. We have to stay on guard and watchful by being in prayer and in scripture because the devil is attacking us everyday! He attacks our minds and hearts with temptation, jealousy, envy and many other things to get us to hurt ourselves along with others who are close to us such as friends and family! You cannot let your guard down as a Christian warrior because if you do, you and others around you may suffer some damages that are hard to recover from. But you have to remember that God is your protector and shield. No matter what the devil does, it will not and cannot effect you in any way and because of your humbleness in prayer and scripture, you will exalt and conquer over all things.
What can you do to stay on guard against the daily attacks of the devil ?
Have you surrendered your life to Christ so that he can save you and help you through life's struggles? (Romans 10:9)
